SNAP and DUFB as easy as 1… 2… 3…

Get more fruits & vegetables when you use your Bridge Card at farmers markets!

How to use your Bridge Card:

1. Bring your SNAP Bridge Card to all PFC Markets. This is the Bridge Card cart near the office at Kalamazoo, and the PFC booth in Portage. Market staff are there to help. You'll swipe your card for a certain amount, and we will give you an equal amount of wooden $1 tokens to use with participating vendors.

2. Buy SNAP-eligible foods at the market with your Bridge Card tokens.

 Households CAN use SNAP benefits to buy:

  • breads and cereals;
  • fruits and vegetables;
  • meats, fish and poultry; and
  • dairy products.

Seeds and plants which produce food for the household to eat.

3. We’ll match what you spend with FREE Double Up Food Bucks – up to $20, every market day. Use them right away or later on to buy Michigan grown fruits & vegetables.

EX) Let's say you want to take $20 off of your Bridge Card to use at the market. You'll swipe your card for that amount, and we will give you an equal number of wooden coins to use with vendors. We'll also give you an extra $20 in Double Up coins to use on Michigan fruits and vegetables. This means you'll have $40 to use on market!

Visit any of the PFC Markets to learn more about the Double Up Food Bucks program. We will guide you through the process so that you can take home more fruits and vegetables while helping to support your local farmers and economy!
