Summer is not over yet. Get your DIP ON!!

Join us this Saturday for a sampling event where you can try four amazing dips for all of your market produce! Sampling will take place under the pavilion at the center of the market at 9:00 and 11:00. 

 

Items in bold are produced locally and can be bought at the PFC or markets

 

 

Cucumber Cool Down

1 cup plain yogurt
1 small cucumber shredded and slightly squeezed
¼ cup chopped dill
salt to taste

Mix well, chill for one hour, serve and enjoy.

This dish is generally served with spicy Indian/Mediterranean dishes to cool the intense, spicy flavor.

Herbed Yogurt Dip

Adapted from The Kitchn

1 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon minced green onion
3 tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley
1 tablespoon chopped dill
1 tablespoon chopped chives
1 tablespoon thinly sliced basil

1 teaspoon lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste

Mix well and allow to chill for 1 hour, serve and enjoy.

The above dip is a light dip that can be added to your favorite veggies or crackers.

 

Fluffy Peanut Butter Dip

Adapted from The Pampered Chef Let's Eat Cookbook

1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
8 oz yogurt
½ cup thawed whipped topping
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix well, chill for one hour, serve and enjoy.

This sweet dip is great for fruit dipping.

 

Marrow Bean Hummus

Adapted from Freeheel Vegan

2 cups cooked beans
1 juiced lemon
2 tablespoons tahini
2 minced cloves of garlic
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon coriander
½ teaspoon turmeric
1-2 tablespoon water, if needed to thin

Mix well and serve.

This vegan dip is good on just about anything… crackers, veggies, pita bread!
